Colorado Rockies @ Atlanta Braves!!

The Rockies came to Atlanta to play the Braves this last week and I was able to take Erica and the boys to the last game in a 4 game series. The Braves had just won the last two and were on a roll going into this game. But little did the Braves know that the Burtons were coming. A friend from work was able to get us tickets to the game. We sat behind the plate just 11 rows behind the field level. So they were pretty good seats. The Rockies won 9-0 with the help of a GRAND SLAM by Todd Helton in the 4th. Here are some pictures.

No Longer Dog Poor!!!

I was walking out to my truck one morning and I saw a stray dog walking on our street. I tried to scare this particular dog away!! Long story short here is our new Puppie.....Katie. With the name of our other dog Duke I wanted to stay with the John Wayne theme. So Katie's full name is Katie Elder Burton. For those who don't understand this name. The Sons of Katie Elder was a very good John Wayne film. Plus she looks like a Katie. Anyway. Enjoy the pictures.

Easter 2009!!

Erica wanted all of us Boys to wear Easter colors. So I went shopping and this is what I got!!! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter...

Peytons Awards

Peyton received three awards at the end of the school year:

1. "A" Honor Roll for the entire year

2. Perfect attendance for the entire year

3. Presidential Award for Physical Fitness..

Again the Brains from Erica and looks and athleticism from DAD!! Erica too.

AJs Awards

In March of this year AJ recieved an award for showing exceptional character during school. There was an incident at school where AJ stopped one of his friends from getting into a fight. Had his friend got into this altercation he would have been sent to an alternate school. His friend has had problems in the past and was struggling to start over. AJ was presented the "Character in Action Award" at the Lee County Courthouse in Auburn, AL. There were several children that were Awarded the "CIA" however AJ and three others were chosen to be presented the Award in person. GOOD JOB AJ!!!

At the conclusion of the school year AJ was recognized for achieving "A" honor roll for the ENTIRE year. Obviously AJ got the smarts from Erica and looks from Dad!!! Great Job AJ.

Hiking Trip!!

Earlier this year we went to Providence Canyon with some friends and their two sons. This is the first canyon I have seen since I have moved from Los Alamos. This place was really cool. There were 7 different canyons that we could walk thru. I guess it all started with erosion. When it rains here in the south it RAINS!!! Here are the pics from that trip.

Snow In Alabama!!

Earlier this year we had our first snow storm since living in Alabama!!! Erica and I were okay with it but the boys were shocked. The last time AJ had seen snow was when we lived in Colorado Springs and Peyton had never really ever seen it or played in it. So here are some pics hope you enjoy.

Wrestling 2008

Stretching....5...4...3...2...1!!! WHOA!!!

AJ warming up for his final match!!!

AJ's last wrestling match! He had to wrestle a felow teammate. AJ ended up losing but did very well. Overall AJ improved a bunch from his first day to his last. AJ continues to practice with the highschool until their season is over which is the end of Jan. He love it and is already looking forward to next season. Once the season is over AJ will continue on with training but he will be doing Jujitsu and MMA. That is what he is really excited about.

Update!!

I will continue to work on this and update. As for the other website that you had for us go ahead and just overwrite it with this one. Stay tuned. I have three more weeks before I have to go back to work so I will have plenty of time to keep this updated.. Love you all.

Christmas/New Year

Well Christmas came and went and so did the New Year!! We celebrated Christmas with just us. It was a nice time. I was also recovering from minor back surgery. Everything went well with that. As for New Years we had Ericas younger sister and family come into town and we threw our annual block party. Everyone had a great time. All the kids were able to light of some fireworks and bring in the New Year with a bang. For the rest of the Holidays we are going to sit at home and relax.

Surgery

15JAN08:

Tomorrow is the day. I will be having surgery on my back. I will be out of work for a approx. 30 days. I am still going to be working on this web site so please bare with me. I hope you all enjoy. Take care and stay tuned for even more cool info.


01JAN09:
Surgery went as planned. The Dr. said that my discs were worse than he thought but he was able to get done what he wanted. I was pretty uncomfortable for the first week, but I had a great nurse (Erica) and I was taken care of pretty good. I will start PT on Monday and should be at 100% by March. Thanks to all for the phone calls, prayers, and support. It meant a lot.

AJ's Wrestling!!

AJ started wrestling this year and WOW!! He is kicking butt!! He started out at 128 and now is weighing in at 119. Watch this video of his very first match. AJ has had 5 matches and unfortunately he has not won yet. But he has made a lot of progress. His Coach has even commented on how well AJ has improved. AJ love this new sport and I think we found one that he will do very well in.
